If twitter had been descendant rather than ascendant at the
time, very much as it is now, I think things could have been very
different.
I think we're missing an important aspect of this: geography. If
you're not in North America (preferrably Sillicon Valley) then it's
hard to do a lot of the offline networking that attracts and keeps
the micro-celeb's attention.
Can anyone name a Web 2.0 product that's based in Europe and
which is popular amongst Scoble's ilk?
